It is very important to dispose of ALL products in a responsible manner to make sure they do not reach waterways. When foreign material ends up in bodies of water, marine habitats are disrupted and wildlife is harmed.
A 2012 study from CalRecycle found that when our PLA products breakdown in a marine environment they do not release microplastics, toxic chemicals or other hazardous byproducts like oil-based plastics do. No matter where they end up, they have a lower carbon footprint than comparable non-compostable products.

No matter where they end up, our reusable products have a lower carbon footprint than non-compostable plastic options. Our products will eventually breakdown into natural elements leaving behind no microplastics, toxic chemicals or other hazardous byproducts.
In theory, our PLA based reusable products could be recycled and remade into new products. However, there isn’t currently enough demand for recycled PLA products, so our current waste systems will typically sort them into landfill waste if recycled. No matter how they are disposed of, our products have a lower carbon footprint than non-compostable competitors.
We’re happy to say our products will eventually break down into natural elements without leaving behind microplastics. Our reusable products and PLA based compostable products do not release any hazardous byproducts or toxic chemicals when they breakdown in environment.
Our reusable products are not certified compostable. They are made from the same material as our compostable cups and cutlery, but are much thicker so will not break down in the 180-day time frame needed to be considered compostable.
No matter where our reusable products end up, they will eventually break down into natural elements that return to the earth leaving no microplastics or toxic chemicals behind.
Reusables are designed to last. Our line was designed by a mom to live up the high-pressure life of little kids. They are lightweight but tough. Use them as your kids grow and then pass along to someone else.
