Biodegradable simply means that disintegration will occur, without specifying an amount of time or what the end material may be. Technically, any material is biodegradable overtime and depends on the environment. Companies often use the term “biodegradable” to mislead consumers. It is illegal in the state of California to label a product as biodegradable without being substantiated by third-party testing.
Compostable materials must degrade at a certain rate into a nutrient-rich substance to be qualified. We consider “compostable” to be a legitimate way to measure and represent a product’s end-of-life impact on the environment.
Our compostable products are certified as compostable, not just biodegradable.
The available packaging made from compostable materials does not perform well enough to ensure your products make it home clean and safe.
We are committed to continuing our work innovating cost-effective compostable packaging that’s up to our performance standards. We hope to make all our packaging compostable soon.

"First time trying them. Concerned that they would leak and tear easy. Really surprised AND HAPPY that they held up to liquids and the amount of trash I put in them.
Holds up really well but I appreciate it starts to break down once it's time to go out to the bin. I got a lesser batch once that tore and they sent me out a replacement that was better right away.
I have a large trash can in my bathroom that I could NEVER find the right size plastic for and thankfully now with this, I'm all set :) the only wish I had was that there were more in every pack, I run out really quick but I have it on subscription so it works out either way.
I have been purchasing these bags from my local Whole Foods for several years. Recently they had none in stock so I ordered from your site. I sometimes had problems with the bags dissolving and tearing but the newer versions seem a little sturdier.
I am a convert and hope to be able to buy as I need from Whole foods, however if needs be I would order again from your site.
Repurpose bags don’t fall apart like other compost ales… no need to double bag my trash!
Love the bags. Strong, solid, get the job done. The box though is not up to snuff. I’ve yet to be able to get the first bag out without mangling the box. So I’m left with roll held with a rubber band. Since the box/dispenser is in pieces. I think the roll of bags is just to tight in the box. Maybe if the box was slightly larger so the roll could rotate inside, the box/dispenser would be the beans. But as is… gotta nick you a couple stars.
We're very sorry to hear about your experience with our wastebags! We appreciate all honest feedback on how we can improve our products. You may have received a defective box, and our team will absolutely be looking into this!
Until then we’d love to make this right for you. Please email email@example.com with your issue, order #, and date of purchase and we’ll offer you a discount to give us another try.
